The Borgia family's Palacio Ducal in Gandía, listed as an Asset of Cultural Interest since 1964, is one of the most iconic civic buildings in València's historic heritage. Set in the heart of the historic city centre, alongside the Collegiate Church of Santa María and the City Hall, it has witnessed the changing history of the capital of La Safor practically since its foundation.
Iglesia de San Pedro (Saint Peter's Church) stands in the square named after it, in the old market quarter of the city of Xàtiva in the province of València. The church is thought to be one of the oldest in the city and for a long time, together with other churches, it was one of the city's three focal points for Christianity following the Christian conquest. It has been listed as an Asset of Cultural Interest since 1983.
The Antigua Universidad, otherwise known as the Escuelas Pías, is one of the most important buildings in the Historic centre of Gandía and can be found in a square at the end of Gandía's Calle Mayor, the city's busiest shopping street. The Escuelas Pías building started life as the first university to be set up in Gandía and the world's first Jesuit university.
"Nacimiento del Río Tuéjar" Nature Reserve is located in the town of Tuéjar in the province of Valencia. It occupies an area of 600 ha. and is characterised by a deep valley close to the Sierra de Javalambre mountain range, carved by the famous river that gives it its name.
"Los Calderones" Municipal Nature Reserve is located in the town of Chulilla, specifically in the region of Los Serranos (Valencia), comprising an area of 538.05 ha.
Its landscape is characterised by its spectacular geological formations, such as the Hoces of the Turia River and the surrounding mountains. The erosion from the current of this river as it passes through Chulilla has created a deep gorge with vertical walls which has become a splendid canyon after many years.
On the coast of Valencia it is possible to experience entertaining dives and, as on this occasion, with a truly surprising abundance of natural life. The common characteristic of the seabed along this coast is the continual presence of sandy substrate which is sometimes dotted with rocky formations like islets or stony tonguelike outcrops which do not usually have variations in depth exceeding three or four metres.
From the point of view of diving, what characterises the seaboard of the province of Valencia is the predominance of sandy beaches, very suitable for bathing and with all the facilities the user might demand, but seemingly of little interest for diving. But this is only in appearance, as moving away from the coast the seabed is found to be abundantly rocky, with little change in level, but full of life in its countless coves, crevices and cracks.
Chera-Sot de Chera Natural Park is a 6,451 ha space where visitors can delve right into nature. It is one of the most emblematic territories in the Region of Valencia, and it is not surprising as it possesses environmental, scenic and sociocultural resources of special relevance and interest. This protected area is located in the northwestern part of the province of Valencia, between the regions of Plana Utiel-Requena and Los Serranos.
In the town of Losilla, there is a route for all ages that passes through different locations related to geology and to the appearance of the Losillasaurus fossils.
The Natural History Museum of the València Universit-M(UV)HN- is a new installation of the University of Valencia that it originates with the idea of bringing together in a single space the most relevant elements of its 32 scientific collections with hundreds of thousands of specimens and offer this huge cultural and scientific heritage to the Valencian society. In addition, the Museum becomes a space for research and training for the university community and the general public.
